What is Siacoin?
Siacoin (SC) is the first decentralized storage platform secured by blockchain technology. The Sia Storage Platform leverages underutilized hard drive capacity around the world to create a data storage marketplace that is more reliable and lower cost than traditional cloud storage providers. Offering a peer-to-peer storage ecosystem, Sia allows for individuals to monetise their spare hard drive space. Sia encrypts and distributes files across a decentralized network. Users control their private encryption keys and they own their data. No outside company or third party can access or control their files, unlike other traditional cloud storage providers.
