What is Rupee?
Rupee uses an altered version of the Scrypt Proof of Work mining algorithm, initially created for an online backup service named Tarsnap. The Scrypt algorithm is a password-based key derivation function , meaning that it infers a key from a password. Rupee is a blockchain based cryptocurrency that uses peer-to-peer network to enable digital exchanges instantly. Rupee chose to use Scrypt mining because it s more suitable for a general purpose processor, as opposed to ASICs mining hardware.
