What is Bitcoin Gold?
Bitcoin Gold (BTG) is a hard fork of Bitcoin. The stated drive of the hard fork was to restore the mining functionality with common Graphics Processing Units (GPU) instead of mining with specialized ASIC used to mine Bitcoin. Unlike Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Gold (BTG) uses the memory hard Equihash as proof-of-work (POW) algorithm instead of the SHA-256. The purpose of Bitcoin Gold is to make mining decentralized again following Satoshi Nakamoto s vision of 1 CPU being equal to 1 vote. Find all the news about Bitcoin Gold here.
